Why Is It So Hard to Book A Rental On Long Beach Island?

We are all feeling the tight inventory on both the Sales and Rentals side.  A lot of homes were sold this past spring and summer and many new owners are either not renting or will need some time to get signed up with brokers.  We should see a moderate uptick in inventory through new rentals and the releasing of broker holds (properties that are held by agents and brokers, cancellations, etc) but there is no way to predict where and when.  This is why it is best to use a real estate agent to look for properties.  We have the capacity and resources to look deeper into potential availability.

Although the majority of leases are written by the beginning of March, properties in every price range and location become available over time due to the reasons above, so there is no reason to panic in January and February.

For those who have pets, as a dog owner, I know they deserve a vacation, as well.  "Ruffly" speaking, 10% of our rental inventory allows pets.  All breeds of dogs are typically welcome, but many owners prefer those that are small, non-shedding, and hypoallergenic.  Cat-friendly homes are very rare.  Again, we can do the research for you to find a good fit for your family and pet (s).

More on this topic in future blogs, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, give me a call to discuss your #LBI2021Vacation plans.
